Information we collect

Calculator inputs. When you use a tool like our ATAR calculator, GPA calculator, or weighted grade calculator, the subject scores, grades, or percentages you enter are processed in your browser to produce a result. We don't require an account to use any calculator, and we don't ask for your name or store your inputs against your identity.

Contact form. If you reach out through our Contact page, we collect whatever you provide, typically your name, email address, and message, so we can respond to you.

Automatically collected data. Like most websites, we collect some technical information automatically when you visit, such as your browser type, general location (city or region level, from your IP address), device type, and which pages you visited. This is standard analytics data and isn't tied to your name.

Cookies. We use cookies for basic site functionality and analytics.

How we use this information

We use the information above to operate and improve Hayzum: making sure calculators work correctly, understanding which guides and tools are useful so we can prioritise updates, responding to messages sent through our contact form, and keeping the site secure against abuse. We don't sell your personal information to third parties.

Analytics

We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand overall site usage, like which calculators and guides are most visited and how people navigate between them. This data is aggregated and doesn't identify you individually. 

Children's privacy

Many Hayzum visitors are secondary school students researching their ATAR or grades, and some of you will be under 18. Our calculators don't require you to create an account or submit personal details to get a result, by design. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and our contact form and any future features are intended for use by students, parents, or educators old enough to provide their own contact details.

Third-party links

Our guides sometimes link to external sources, such as state tertiary admissions centres or curriculum authorities, for accuracy. Once you leave our site, that site's own privacy policy applies, not ours.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can use every calculator on Hayzum without providing any personal information. If you've contacted us and want your message or details deleted, or have any other question about how we handle data, get in touch through our Contact page.

We may update this policy as Hayzum grows. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do, and significant changes will be reflected here directly.
